What you need

  • WhatsApp Business API access for your number. The regular WhatsApp Business phone app cannot be shared by a whole team or connected to other software in the same way.
  • An Instagram professional account connected to your Facebook page.
  • A Facebook page for Messenger.
  • A shared inbox tool that supports all three through Meta's official APIs.

Setting it up

  1. Log in with your Meta account inside the inbox tool and pick the WhatsApp number, Facebook page and Instagram account to connect.
  2. Add your team and decide who handles which channel.
  3. Choose how new conversations are assigned: taking turns, to one person, or a shared queue.
  4. Save quick replies and create WhatsApp templates for messages you start yourself.
